Morch UP4 and DP6 (please enquire about current prices)

Walrus have long been fans of the Morch arms, from Denmark. So much so, that we import them in the UK (cynics might argue that statement should be the other way round - but we're not cynical, we mean it!).

The UP4 is a unipivot design, the pivot itself consisting of a hardened steel pin resting in a concave sapphire. Damping can be applied as necessary. The DP6 isn't a unipivot; it features a high precision ball bearing for the horizontal plane, and two precision sapphire bearings for the vertical. Independent damping is possible for the two planes of motion.

Both models are finished to very high standards (24K gold plated, with no magnetic metals involved), and both models feature the same set of interchangeable armtubes of differing mass, invaluable for perfect matching to a given cartridge (the armtube removes simply by unscrewing the knurled nut at the very top of the arm). There is, additionally, a so-called Precision armtube available, which has a large flat cartridge mounting platform for larger, heavier MC cartridges.

These arms have a natural, open, sound quality, with delicate midband and treble. They mount easily on a wide range of decks, due to single hole mounting and fully adjustable height. Highly recommended, the only problem being that we can never get enough stock!
