Amazon Model 3 (GBP 995.00, arm & cart extra)

At last we have a product to offer from Amazon at under the magical 1000 Pound barrier! The Model 3 is Amazon's wholly successful attempt at an "affordable" deck, and it's surprising how little they've had to compromise. Superb modern appearance and finish - Check. DC motor with switched speed change and adjustable speed - Check. Amazon's customary string drive - Check. Outboard power supply block - Check.

And, what nicer to put on it than Roksan's new Nima tonearm, both a visual match, a conceptual match (note the acrylic headshell) and a sonic match (ie: superb sounding!). We are happy, of course, to put the usual Rega / Origin Live modified Rega on the Amazon too - it's going to be a difficult decision for the purchaser.

This deck really is the spiritual successor to the (now sadly defunct) Pink Triangle, sharing as it does the use of acrylic for the platter. Even the sound is somewhat similar (very open and fast). Difference is, this one works and goes on working (German made, y'see) and is a doddle to set-up. Sorry, Arthur (one of the original founders of PT) - it had to be said. Respect, and all that, and I still use a Pink myself, but I've just seen too many fall prematurely by the wayside with silly problems - not thankfully something which afflicts the Amazon of course. A very worthy addition to our range.
