Lyra
Lyra Delos
Since we started, Lyra has argueably been our favourite pickup cartridge. We particularly favour the very open sound which comes at least in part from the open body-less construction, even though it means greater care has to be taken over fitting and use. Lyras are also accurate, neutral performers, with a fast or immediate presentation of dynamics. And, although not something you want to think about when purchasing a new pickup, trade in allowances for worn or damaged Lyras are better than many other competing brands.
The Delos is a new model, and replaces the Dorian and Argo models, unfortunately also raising the cost of becoming a Lyra owner. In compensation, the Delos incorporates Lyra's new "pre-angled damping system" which ensures the coils always sit at exactly the right angle to the magnetic circuit when the cartridge is tracking at its optimum weight.
Lyra Kleos
The Kleos builds on the strengths of the Delos with even more rigid construction and a different, line contact, stylus assembly.
Lyra Skala
The Skala, which appears at first sight to be made entirely from plastic, features a very advanced construction which couples the generator assembly very rigidly to the tonearm by a metal blade which passes right through the cartridge to bear firmly against the headshell, avoiding other resonant structures in the process.
Lyra Titan i
Lyra's flagship pickup, machined from a solid block of titanium with special resonance reducing shapes, using non-contact electrical discharge machining internally for precision and stress reduction.
