Amplifon

Amplifon valve amps from Poland, are quite simply superb value for money. All of their models feature very substantial construction, internally and externally, with a high standard of finish that's typically associated with, for example, Italian products. They all have large toroidal output transformers with taps for 4 and 8 Ohms, they all have triode input and driver stages, they have independent power supply rectification and filtering for left and right channel, and all have automatic biasing of output valves, so no adjustment necessary when changing valves.

An internal view of the WT40 gives you some idea of the build quality, with extensive use of separate small PCBs, making servicing potentially much easier, not that we hope to be doing much of that!

Inside the WT-40

Sound quality of all models is definitely classic valve, with a sweet and open top end and a full bass. Due, however, to the generous power supplies and output transformers, there is also sufficient punch to always rise to the occasion. The combination is a very musically satisfying one! We strongly urge you to audition these amps against anything in the same price region; we're sure you'll agree the Amplifons are outstanding.
