A.S. logo

Acoustic Signature turntables are designed and constructed entirely in-house (from parts of which at least 90% are manufactured by themselves) in their modern factory in Germany. The very latest computer controlled machines are used ensuring complete accuracy in manufacturing. In fact, A.S. also take on manufacturing work for other turntable manufacturers too. A unique feature shared by the whole range is a "Tidorfolon" (ferrite, vanadium, Teflon and titanium) self lubricating main bearing guaranteed for ten years. Another standard feature is the use of an AC synchronous drive motor. AC motors are very stable and consistent, and make less audible mechanical noise than their DC cousins. However, they are susceptible to mains-borne interference and frequency variations. This can be eradicated by expensive regenerative power supplies which produce a clean accurate sine wave. Most manufacturers expect you to upgrade at extra expense to these units. Others don't even offer you one. A.S. supply a proper regenerative supply, their Alpha supply, as standard, so you get optimum performance right from the start.

Acoustic Signature Challenger (GBP 1295.00 - deck only, no arm)

Challenger

The Challenger is our best selling A.S. turntable and represents stunning value for money. In fact, although they consider it to be their "entry level" high mass turntable (it weighs in at 23kg) - the engineering, in our opinion, equals most manufacturer's mid or top end units. Set-up is very straightforward, a refreshing change to what we sometimes have to put up with (mentioning no names), and up to 3 tonearms can be mounted at a future date (you might wonder why more than one arm would be desirable - in this age of fixed head tonearms the easiest way to swap between different pickups is to use more than one arm).

We very highly recommend the Challenger (as do several magazines who gave it superb reviews) - come in to see it (and hear it with your favourite vinyl, but please book a demo first) and we think you'll be as impressed as we are!

Acoustic Signature Manfred (GBP 995.00 incl AS250 arm but no cart)

Manfred

And, for those who don't want to spend quite as much, and who maybe want a more domestically harmonious look, the Manfred with its beautifully veneered 38mm wooden chassis would be an ideal choice. You still, cleverly, get the benefit of the same fully decoupled AC motor (this time nestling in a cut-out in the chassis) together with a full regenerative power supply. Very little expense has been spared and very few corners cut and you get an AS version of the Rega 250 arm, together with a VTA adjuster, something else you normally have to pay extra for!
